Founding Member, Shayna has only been in the beauty industry for 2.5 years but she has made the most out of her career in those short years. Shayna grew up in Westminster, CO. In 2016, she graduated from cosmetology school and began working at a salon but something didn’t feel quite right. “I have such a passion for the beauty industry but I felt like I was confined in a box and held back at other salons (commission and booth rental). I felt my passion fading and only a few months after I graduated cosmetology school I was extremely discouraged with my new career choice. After a huge heart to heart with my biggest supporters, my parents and my fiancé, I realized that I still loved everything about this industry, I was just not in a compatible environment. My mom gave me the advice ‘leap and the net will appear’ and she was spot on! I jumped and never looked back.” Shayna joined MY SALON Suite of Westminster last year and said “everything in her life is better” because of it.
So, how did Shayna find her inspiration? Shayna realized she was lacking passion in her new career and needed to make a change. “MY SALON Suite totally gave me back my passion. It has inspired me to create my own space for my clients and focus on what I love doing, the products I love selling, and the clients I love working with.” Owning her own business has given Shayna a new confidence and she says she has never been more proud of herself. “It really is the best feeling to put your heart and soul into something and see it grow.”
Shayna said one of the things she loves about owning her salon with the Suite Elite is that, “I was able to bring my visions to life in creating a fun, cozy, and beautiful suite experience to my clients and myself. I am now able to offer an extensive list of services and products and have seen a HUGE increase in my clientele.“ Shayna’s income has almost tripled (yes, you read that right!) since coming to MY SALON Suite in just one year from a commission-based salon.
Another aspect Shayna loves about the Suite Life is the freedom and flexibility she now has. She chooses her own hours, the products she carries and what services she offers to her clients. This allows her to grow as much as SHE wants to.
What piece of advice would Shayna give to someone thinking about joining the Suite Elite? “Don’t wait until the time feels right, because you will always find reasons to not invest in yourself. Push yourself out of your comfort zone continuously – this is how you grow, learn, and become everything that your dreams are made of. Do what you love and the money will follow.”
