4 Summertime Contests to Grow Your Salon Suite

Looking to market your salon suite through non-promotional marketing activities? Running a contest is a great way to get your business name out there to your community and potential clients. Running a contest can expand your social reach, increase your email subscribers, encourage referrals and boost your product sales.
  1. Photo Contest- You can ask clients to submit their own photos for a contest like a Summer Time Fun photo contest or Summer Look Photo Contest. Another option is to have a “Caption This” photo contest. You can collect the data right there in a social post or you can create a form to collect all of the entrants data including email and contact information. The easiest forms to create a google forms or King Sumo.
  2. Guess How Many Contest- You’ve probably seen these before where there is a large glass container filled with candy, marbles, or any other small item and people have to correctly guess the number of pieces in the container. You can do this with candies or samples of products you carry, bobby pins, makeup brushes, nail polish, etc. Encourage your followers to share with their friends for extra entries.
  3. Selfie Contest- This is a contest you could run all summer long with one big prize at the end like a free service or product. Encourage your clients to take a selfie and tag you when they use a product you carry or after an appointment with you. You can randomly choose a winner via random.org at the end of the summer. The great thing about a contest like this is that these clients are doing some free advertising for you all summer long!
  4. Vote for a New Service/ Retail Product Contest- This is a great way to get clients and social followers involved and get them excited for a new service or new product you may be offering. Choose 3-4 products you have been thinking about carrying or 3-4 services you have been thinking about offering. Create a voting form, Instagram Story, or social post and encourage your followers to vote. The service or retail product with the most votes wins and one lucky voter will have first dibs on that product or service with a discount or for free.
