Crisis Is Change Forced To Happen. What Changes Are You Making?

Before salons reopen, there are some things you can be doing to prepare yourself, your clients and your business. We recently discussed this topic with Nick Robinette, Director of National Accounts Education with Redken during our Suite Elite & Friends webinar. Nick offered up some ways you can stay productive and use this time to improve your skills and your business. As Nick says, “Crisis is change forced to happen. What changes are you making?”

Reconnect with your clients. In some states, business reopenings may happen county to county. Make sure you touch base with all of your clients during this time off so that they wait for YOU and your salon business to reopen. Send an email or text or call them on the phone. Reach out to let them know you are excited to reopen and see them. If you haven’t already, get them in your calendar based on your state reopen

Get social! Go through your photos to find amazing work you’ve done. Start posting the amazing transformations on your Facebook or Instagram page. For example, “Can’t wait to get back to work and do amazing work like this. See you all at the salon real soon!” This is a wonderful time to bring in new clients as well. “Looking for something new and exciting? I’m here for you.” Use hashtags from local stores or shopping plazas near you along with your city. Community is vital!

Referrals. Offer up a referral discount to your clients and followers. “If you have any friends or family looking for a hairstylist, send them my way! If you post this on your social network and I get someone who responds and books an appointment with me, you will receive 20% off your next service.”

Volunteer. Research ways you can help in your community. Many schools, churches, food banks are looking for volunteers to hand out food safely to people struggling in your community. This is a great way to go out and help your community while also promoting your business.

Education. Research and educate yourself on new safety and sanitary protocols. Barbicide offers a free online certification. Certificates can be printed out and placed in your suite to display for your clients. Make sure your guests know they are entering a clean, well sanitized environment. Get your skills sharpened for quick services that make a huge difference with your guest. (Face framing foils, Shades EQ, Dry Cutting, etc)  You can do this by going to Redkenpro.com/connect and find all that you need to get your skills sharpened and get ready for those doors to open.
