Over the past 6 years, the Suite Relief Fund was born and has evolved; here is The Suite Relief Story:
In 2017, when Hurricane Harvey devastated Houston, Texas, our Members and Franchise Partners rallied together to raise an amazing $20,072 in support of our fellow community Members directly affected by the disaster.
Witnessing the immense strength of our community, we were inspired to make an even greater difference in the world.
In 2018, the Franchise Advisory Council of MY SALON Suite visited the renowned St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. There, we witnessed firsthand the incredible impact of saving lives and helping those in need.
Motivated by this experience, we launched the Suite Relief Fund in October 2018.
The response was overwhelming. Our locations eagerly adopted the Suite Relief Program, and our Members began contributing just $2 a week.
In September 2019, we hosted our first Annual September Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and raised an incredible $17,546 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in just 30 days.
But our efforts didn’t stop there. In 2020, we partnered with the Professional Beauty Association (PBA) to create the Suite Relief Disaster Relief Fund, specifically designed to provide support to our Members impacted by natural disasters.
When Hurricane Ida struck New Orleans in 2021, the PBA | Suite Relief Disaster Relief Fund swiftly disbursed $46,000 in grants to our affected Members, providing them with essential emergency funds.
Our partners at Empower Financial Group also went above and beyond, driving all the way from Houston, Texas, to deliver much-needed supplies gathered in a supply drive to our Members.
In 2022, we distributed $1,000 for flood relief in St. Louis, Missouri, and over $30,000 to aid our Members in Ft. Myers and Naples, Florida, as they rebuilt their lives after Hurricane Ian.
In 2023, we expanded our partnership with the PBA and began awarding continuing education scholarships to our Members on a quarterly basis. Additionally, we provided 25 scholarships to students across the country, empowering the next generation of beauty professionals.
Since the inception of the Suite Relief Fund,
- We have raised an astounding $650,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
- We have distributed over $97,000 in Emergency Relief Funds to Members affected by natural disasters.
- We have awarded over 100 continuing education scholarships to Members nationwide
- We have awarded five $1,000 education scholarships to aspiring beauty professionals
Together, we have proven time and time again that we are not simply a business, but a community that cares deeply for one another and is committed to our collective success.
