Cheryl Gutierrez

CherylAnn Gutierrez is a licensed Cosmetologist and founder of The Waxing Room. Her experience and professionalism in the beauty industry now spans over three decades. CherylAnn’s journey into the beauty world began early on when she played with dolls and gave them all makeovers, haircuts and all! In her teenage years, she had a wealth of friends that she practiced on and for prom, she dedicated her time to making her friends look and feel beautiful. That is what has motivated her throughout the years, to make others feel confident and look their best. Encouraged by her grandmother, she earned her license in Cosmetology after high school and a few years later became an instructor and educator for several upscale salons in the Chicagoland area. In 1995 she began competing in national events, including the Chicago Midwest Beauty Show, where she took first place several times over four years. That experience brought on her next role as an OPI educator where she travelled nationwide to events and mentored others in the industry. CherylAnn helped set the footprint in Chicago for nail salons, working to recruit and educate professionals, elevating the standard for nail technicians and in turn, helped to open several chain stores across Chicago. During her career in the industry, she saw the need for a salon that dedicated itself to waxing. Just as she elevated the standard for nail technicians, she wanted to do the same for waxing. That was her inspiration for The Waxing Room; and she has been setting the standard in hair removal for close to twenty years. CherylAnn recruits and trains all estheticians prior to their employment at The Waxing Room, something that is not standard in the industry. She strives to offer a specialty waxing salon, known for its excellence in depilatory treatment, quality hair removal products and practiced only by licensed professionals that meet her approval. Since its inception, The Waxing Room has been featured in national magazines, including selected as Best of the Best in Waxing for Chicago in Allure Magazine and again a year later, for Best Eyebrow Wax in Chicago by Allure Magazine. CherylAnn’s work is far from over; you can find her at The Waxing Room as well as in industry leading events and panels. Her passion for all things skincare and beauty compels her to seek other opportunities for growth.
