Our Suite Elite Featured Member for October is Vicki Lynn Kelley in North Austin, Texas. Vicki Lynn has been in the beauty industry for 32 years and has been with MY SALON Suite for the past two years. She was one of the very first Members at her location. “I love the freedom to do what I want in my space. I can be as creative as I want to. My suite represents my personality. I love the professionalism and the consistency with MY SALON Suite.” Vicki has been able to make her suite her own by creating a fun, creative space. “I made it mine by creating a space that’s comfortable for my customers so they can come here and relax in a clean, comfortable environment.” Vicki Lynn is an experienced Master stylist and makeup artist. Working in traditional salons, Vicki remembers that it is hard, unpredictable and inconsistent and she had “very little control.” With The Suite Elite, it is a “controlled environment and I know what to expect and everything is taken care of. It is clean and professional.”
Owning her own business at MY SALON Suite has been a real game changer for Vicki. “It means everything. I’ve been in this business a long time and gives me so much more control over my career and after all these years in the business, it inspired me even more to realize I can do more. It took my career to another level and inspired me to do more… it has lit a fire under me.” Vicki has been self employed before but with The Suite Elite, she describes how it is very different. “The Suite Elite gave me the tools to take my business to another level and focus more on my business. We creative people have trouble focusing and all of the tools The Suite Elite offers helps me focus on my business. I set up Google My Business and my review pages with the help from my location owner, Lori. It helped me way more than I could imagine. Lori and MY SALON Suite gave me some more tools to take my business to another level. I’ve made some great connections and I was even on a panel for one of Google’s business discussions that they offer for business owners.”
Vicki went on to share that “the company as a whole is awesome and provided so much support. I feel like my business is really supported and have a whole team behind me. Lori takes a personal interest in helping support our businesses.” Vicki felt especially supported during the COVID-19 closures. Her location was closed for 6 weeks but during that time, her location owner, Lori Trotter, held virtual meetings every Monday to stay connected to her Members and keep them informed on everything including providing resources and how to apply for SBA loans and/or unemployment. “She kept us informed and connected us. There were so many tools provided. She personally was just there to support us. She went above and beyond!”
What piece of advice would Vicki give someone considering joining The Suite Elite? “Go for it! I think this is a great opportunity especially with everything that’s going on. I can provide a secure, clean, sanitary environment for my customers. The company as a whole provides so much support.” Great advice, Vicki!
