Hey! My name is Ilana Vidal, owner of Velvet Studio in sunny Miami, Florida. From an early age I knew I wanted to be in the hair industry. As a little kid I would color my dolls head with sharpie and chop their hair off. In my preteen years, I started to dye my own hair and fell in love with the fact that changing your own hair color can make you feel like a brand new person and that’s exactly what I wanted to achieve for others. I wanted to give people confidence. Ever since I attended cosmetology school I knew I wanted to be a salon owner. In October of 2021, I acquired that title when I opened Velvet Studio. My goal is to create an environment for everyone who sits in my chair to have a positive, calm, and relaxing experience while receiving their hair goals.
